This report gives first a general description of Biology and Ecology. Emphasis is then on the biological resources that have two characteristics:
(1)self-regulatory（自律性）
(2) renewable（再生性）
Fisheries and wildlife biology are applied ecology which has management needs. Conservation of biological resources has to be based upon the understanding of their population dynamics and provides sustainable management strategies.
